Has there ever been a time in history where so many people have prayed together (albeit virtually)?
However, at the same time as we are joining together in an unprecedented show of Christian unity, there are people for whom lockdown is devastating and dangerous. The statistics have been in the news – with the UK’s largest domestic abuse charity, Refuge reporting a 700% increase in calls to its helpline in a single day. In comparison, a separate helpline for perpetrators of domestic abuse seeking help to change their behaviour received 25% more calls after the start of the COVID-19 lockdown.
And it’s not just in the UK; UN Women reported increasing reports of domestic violence during the crisis in Argentina, Canada, France, Germany, Spain and the United States.
We can’t and must not ignore this, so are inviting you to join us for an online prayer time on April 21st, 19:30 – 20:30. You must register via Eventbrite – please click here. We will email you a private link to Zoom (on the morning of the 21st) to take part.
We do hope you join us for what will be an incredible and powerful time of prayer.
